I think there should be a holiday for every standard animal known to man (not every single animal in the world but every animal that has made an enormous impact in human life). For example, cows are a big part of because we eat them all the time, therefore there should be a holiday called “Cow-Day”. The one holiday I want to talk about is Monkey-Day. Monkeys provide entertainment, comfort (for some), and even raise the economy. They can raise the economy because some people actually own monkeys and have to buy food for it every week or people at the zoo have to build a habitat for the monkeys to live in. There are other ways monkeys can help with the economy but I want to talk more about Monkey-Day. For the people that own monkeys or work in the monkey exhibit at the zoo, it has become clear that monkeys are a big part of those people’s life and the people become very attached to the monkey. Everyone who wanted to join could go to the zoo on a special day and watch the monkeys and there would probably be a special lunch for this very special day. One way the word could spread is by social media. Everyone who is interested could repost a picture of the flyer to get the word out there. It wouldn’t even be just lunch, the zoo staff might provide something special such as playing a game, watching a movie, or even putting on a show with the monkeys. This day would be a big hit for hundreds and a great way for people to share interest.
MONKEY COMPETITION
Monkeys compete all the time and one reason they compete is for food. Monkeys like to eat nuts, fruit, small insects, and other stuff but sometimes there just isn’t enough food in the area. In a forest ecosystem, there is plenty of food for all different species and animals but in other ecosystems, like the grasslands, there is not enough food. In habitats like the grasslands, monkeys compete for food like small mammals, seeds, and other small things in that area but if they eat all of the seeds for example, the seeds cannot make more seeds which results in competition between monkeys for food. Monkeys and any other animal will fight over food because they know that without food, they cannot survive.
MONKEY TERROR
One day, Me, Hope, Isabelle, Haley, Maddie, Lily, and Ashlyn were all having a sleepover at Hope´s house. Hope lives behind a lake so we all wanted to eat dinner by the lake and have a picnic. So we did and we had the best croissant sandwiches with turkey and cheese, strawberries, homemade rolls, and seven waters to drink. It was a beautiful sunset and we were so excited to watch Jumanji 2 later that night. Finally the sun started to go down and it was time to head inside. We got lots of blankets and pillows and settled in to watch Jumanji 2. The movie started and we got into an hour and a half of the movie until we got to the monkey scene… we sat there and watched the monkeys jump out at us one by one. We started running as we woke up the whole house. Hopes two older brothers were at college but her older sister who was in ninth grade, Brooke, locked her door and went back to sleep, and Hope’s parents ran out to help us but we were already out of the house and the monkeys had followed us. We knew we had to take action so we did. Hope found a stick and whacked them on their heads, Isabelle and I jumped on their backs and pulled on their heads as they bit us, meanwhile while all of this was happening, Ashlyn was in the bathroom. Then, Haley found a random baseball near the lake and threw it at all of their heads, and Maddie and Lily tried the best they could do to kick, hit, and punch the monkeys as best as the could. After they were all dead, Hope’s parents came out to get us back inside so we could get back to sleep. After we got inside Ashlyn came out of the bathroom and said, “So what did i miss guys?”. THE END!!!

MONKEYS BEING USEFUL
Monkeys can bring the community together because people can volunteer at the shelter, people can go to the shelter to pick up the monkeys if they want to take them home as a pet, people can donate to the zoo, etc. If people volunteer there, they can help people when they come to get a pet monkey. If you donate to the zoo, you are helping the monkeys and zoo workers by getting the animals bigger habitats, more food, etc.
HOW STRONG ARE MONKEYS?
To jump from branch to branch, climb tree to tree, swing on branches, and much more, you have to be pretty strong. Chimps are the strongest monkey out there. They are incredibly strong and fast, humans are easily overpowered. Monkeys also have very strong tales too. They have tails to keep their balance while climbing trees so they don’t fall to the ground. Like kangaroos, monkeys tails are very strong for that reason and the longer/stronger the tail, the better balance a monkey has. Monkeys have to be very strong to do their daily everyday things and if they were as weak as an ant, they wouldn’t be the type of animals that they are today.
WHAT DO MONKEYS EAT?
Monkeys are omnivores. This means that they eat meat and plant-based foods. A lot of monkeys prefer nuts, fruits, seeds, flowers, etc. Some species of monkeys also eat meat in the form of bird eggs, small lizards, insects, and spiders. If the monkey is raised by humans, we will mostly feed them cooked vegetables, chicken (no spices), grasshoppers, mealworms, hard boiled eggs, freshly cut fruit, etc. The list goes on but the point is that monkeys eat different things depending on how they are raised and where. Monkeys regularly eat 3 times a day just like humans but because of their high metabolisms, they are known to eat about 6 times a day (twice as much as we do).

MONKEYS
The first thing i want to tell y’all is how much i love monkeys. Lets start……… i LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE monkeys. They are definitely my favorite animal in the world. I have decided that when i am old enough to get an exotic animal license, i’m going to purchase a monkey for myself. I have a plan for everything you could even think of. The monkey i want is called a Capuchin monkey, every time i hear that i think of cappuccino….. so thats what im going to name it! My parents couldn’t tell me “no” because i wouldnt be in their house anymore… i would be living in my college apartment by then. my roomates would probably hate me by then but who cares? if i keep earning my 10 dollars a week i would have enough for my exotic animal license and the monkey but i have to save birthday/christmas money for the cage, food, and all the other stuff. all of my family says ¨thats a terrible idea and did you knowthat they get flees very badly¨ but guess what…… they make flee free shampoo. i already know that i would have enough time for it and by then i would have a job so i could provide food daily for cappuchino.
